History
1879. That's the year that Hein van Ruiten opened a vegetable preserving company in Roelofarendsveen. In doing so, he made a virtue of necessity, as pickles and beans could only be harvested for a few months every year. By preserving the harvest in salt (vinegar, at a later stage), the products would remain edible throughout the year.
In 1879, Hein laid out the foundations for Ruiten Foodpack, which is now being managed by the 4th and 5th generation of the family. Passing it on from father to son, the Van Ruiten family has developed the company from a preserve factory into a leading, professional packaging company that processes all imaginable types of food. With state-of-the art machinery and a corresponding workforce.
